Theme: Members' Choice

Your Art. Your Choice. Your Wall.
MAA is heading back to the Oasis Art Gallery at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda, and this time there’s no theme to work around. Members’ Choice means you pick the piece: the one you’re proudest of, the one you can’t stop thinking about, or the one you just finished and are dying to show someone. We’ll hang it in a real gallery for three months, January through mid-April.
Never shown your work before? Start here.
If you’ve been wondering whether you’re “ready” to exhibit, this is your show. Members’ Choice is open to every MAA member, and it’s one of the friendliest, most welcoming shows on our calendar. You’ll be hanging alongside fellow members who remember exactly what their first show felt like. Whether you’ve exhibited dozens of times or this is your first time on a gallery wall, there’s a place for you here.
What should you enter? Whatever makes you excited right now:
- Your signature style, the work people recognzie as yours
- A recent breakthrough you're proud of
- A subject that keeps calling you back
- Something brand new you're experimenting with
Come to the party! Meet the Artists Reception
Sunday, February 7, 1:00–3:00pm
This is the best part of the show. Bring your family and friends, enter to win door prizes, and take a few minutes to tell visitors about your piece: what inspired it, how you made it, and what you hope people see in it. A couple of minutes is plenty. Visitors love hearing the story behind the art, and it’s a great way to connect with the people who connect with your work. Not an entrant this time? Come anyway, meet the artists and cheer them on!
Don’t wait. Space is limited to 65 pieces!
Registration opens November 13 and closes December 11, or sooner if the show fills. Pieces are accepted in the order members register, so the earlier you sign up, the better your chance of getting a second piece in too.
Show fee: $15 (nonrefundable)
