The Montgomery Art Association (MAA) is a nonprofit supporting the visual arts and artists in Montgomery County and the D.C. metro area.
Formed in 1954, and incorporated as a non-profit in 1991, MAA is one of the longest-running arts communities in the greater DC area.
MAA offers a number of opportunities for our 600+ members to display and sell their work. This includes the annual Paint the Town Labor Day Show in Kensington, where we display hundreds pieces of art in a judged show and attract more than 3,500 visitors over the holiday weekend. We also offer nearly a dozen other Art Exhibits each year in a variety of locations; art-themed field trips; plein air painting outings; business workshops; social events and monthly meetings with noteworthy guest speakers.
MAA strives to make a vital contribution to our community. In partnership with the Montgomery College Art Foundation, we provide scholarships to emerging artists. We also support and participate in such community events as the Kensington Day of the Book Festival, Wheaton Arts Parade and Maryland Day of the Arts.
