Holiday Art Show at Oasis Gallery

MAA is delighted to return to the Oasis Art Gallery at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda for our first small works Holiday Art Show.  The price of artwork can not exceed $125/work. 

Theme:  Member's Choice.  

 Membership:  You must be a Montgomery Art Association member in good standing to enter this show.  If you need to renew your membership just click here JOIN MAA.

Eligible media: 

• 2D artwork: Oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, pastel, drawing/ink mediums, encaustic, hand pulled prints, fused glass, textile-fiber arts, digital painting, and photography.
• 3D artwork: 3D artwork to include fused glass, mosaic, clay, wood and metal.  All 3D works must be wired for hanging on the wall with picture hooks. 
  

Size Requirements:  This show is designed to make original art more accessible to a broad audience by offering affordable, small-format works. To that end, we’ve set a price cap of $125 (framed) for all entries.  

We encourage you to consider how your choice of size, framing, and materials supports that pricing goal. While the maximum allowed framed size is 17x14", most works priced at $125 or less typically smaller -- often 8x10", 9/12" or 11x14" framed sizes.

Size Guidelines (Including Frame)

• Minimum size: 5″ × 7″ (35 square inches).  Artwork smaller than this is considered a miniature and is not eligible for this show.
• Maximum size: 17″ × 14″ (238 square inches).  This includes the outer edge of the frame.

Number of pieces allowed: One entry per member.  There will be a total of 65 pieces in this show.  Members can add a second artwork during registration which will be added to the show (in order of registration) if space is available.  You will be contacted by the show manager if your second artwork is added to the show.

Digital Painting Requirements for MAA Shows:  Please read the Digital Painting Requirements  to be accepted in MAA Shows. 

Prints and Cards:  Members who register a small work for this show may also submit prints and cards for sale.  MAA will provide 3 shared bins and 5 shared card racks.  Prints will be limited to 8/artist.  Cards are limited to 10 per artist. See the Show Prospectus for print and card requirements. 

Volunteers:  We will be seeking volunteers for this show.  Indicate on your registration form if you are available for:

• Curating and hanging artwork
  
• Publicity 
• Photography

Entry fee: $10 per work (nonrefundable).

About Oasis: Washington Metropolitan Oasis and the Oasis Art Gallery are part of the national, non-profit Oasis education organization dedicated to enriching the lives of adults age 50 and older through lifelong learning, health and wellness promotion and volunteer opportunities including Intergenerational Tutoring. Oasis brings people together to learn, lead, and contribute in their communities. Weekdays, the Oasis offices and Gallery are busy with Oasis class attendees, registrants, art lovers, as well as Macy’s shoppers.
