Reaching for the Stars by Scott Suess
We are excited to announce the 4th Annual Spring Art Festival at Windridge Vineyard. This popular weekend-long event runs from Friday afternoon through Sunday evening and attracts visitors from across the region to enjoy fine art, wine, and the beautiful vineyard setting.
The Montgomery Art Association show will be held in the Wine Production Room, located just below the Tasting Room, and will serve as a featured part of Windridge’s Spring Festival activities. Windridge is planning additional festival elements throughout the weekend, including an artisan market, outdoor activities, and expanded visitor experiences designed to bring increased foot traffic to the art show and create a vibrant community event.
Show limit: 240 artworks
Eligibility: Open to all MAA members — this is not a juried show
Show Dates & Hours:
April 17, Friday: 4:00pm – 8:00pm
April 18, Saturday: 11:00am – 8:00pm
April 19, Sunday: 11:00am – 6:00pm
Theme: Artist Choice
Artwork does not need to be winery-related or Maryland-specific.
Eligible Media:
- 2D artworks: Oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, pastel, encaustic, drawing/ink mediums, hand pulled prints, fused glass, textile - fiber arts,digital painting, and photography. All 2 D work must be wired to hang on art panels. All 2D work must meet MAA framing and wiring requirements which can be found on the MAA website.
- 3D artworks: fused glass, mosaic, clay, wood, metal will be shown on pedestals or as floor display (unless submitted as 2D to be hung on panels).
Requirements:
- Two Dimensional Work: We will accept 2D artwork up to 32" wide and 36" high (including frame) that will be displayed on art panels (see photo below). We will accept up to 3 larger works wider than 32" that will be displayed on sturdy easels. (Only 1 large work per artist.) There will be total of 220 panel hung works in the show.
- Three Dimensional Work: We will be accepting 3D work for this show -- up to 15 sculpture pieces (including fused glass or mosaics, wood, metal, clay). Artwork will be displayed on pedestals, tables or floor.

Number of pieces allowed : MAA members are invited to submit:
- 3 artwork entries
- Optional 3rd artwork (to be included if space allows)
Volunteer Time Requirement: There is a volunteer requirement for this show. All participants are asked to sign up for one of the volunteer activities on the registration page. Most activities are 2-3 hours in duration and involve being at the exhibit to answer questions and manage sales. Without the help of member volunteers it would be impossible to have this show...THANK YOU for Volunteering.
Cost: Registration fee per member is $10.
Membership Requirement: You must be an MAA member to register for this show.
Show Prospectus:The show prospectus will be available by March 1 . All art must be available for sale. The commission for sold art is 25%.
