Field Trip: January 24, 2026 - National Gallery of Art

Please join the Montgomery Art Association for a special group visit to the National Gallery of Art in Washington, DC, on January 24, 2026. Participants will gather for an optional coffee meet-up before joining the museum’s free docent-led public guided tour of the West Building highlights at 11:00 a.m. The event also includes an optional visit to the East Building’s modern and contemporary galleries, followed by an optional brunch for those who wish to continue the conversation. The trip is designed to offer members a shared cultural experience and an opportunity to explore art across eras and styles.

Location: National Gallery of Art, 6th and Constitution Ave NW, Washington, DC 20565

Directions: Link to Google Maps.  Participants are responsible for their own transportation. We recommend taking public transportation. The nearest Metro station is Archives-Navy Memorial Penn Quarter, a 6-minute walk from the West Building.

Cost: Free. Participants are responsible for their own coffee and brunch expenses

Number of registrants: Up to 20 members and their guests (Members may bring 1 guest.)

What to expect:  

• 9:30–10:30 a.m. – Optional Coffee Meet-Up at Paul Bakery (801 Pennsylvania Ave NW). group gathering, then walk together to the museum.
• 10:45 -11 a.m. – Main Meeting Point; West Building Rotunda entrance (Constitution Ave side).
• 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. – Join Public Docent-led Guided Tour.  Participants explore West Building highlights with an optional mission-based theme.
• 12:00–1:00 p.m. – Optional East Building Visit to modern and contemporary galleries.
• 1:00–1:15 p.m. – Group Photo & Wrap-Up
• 1:15 -2:00 p.m.– Optional Post-Event Brunch at Founding Farmers (1924 Pennsylvania Ave NW). RSVPs recommended.

Snow date:   Event will be cancelled if it is snowing.
