Please join us for an afternoon of late fall Plein Air painting on Sunday, November 23, from 1:30 - 4:30 pm at the beautiful Day Spring Silent Retreat Center in Germantown, Maryland. This area is in a 200+ acre natural stream valley watershed which local residents are currently asking Montgomery County to preserve as parkland.  

Enjoy painting these pristine acres of forest and farmland. You will find oak, hickory and evergreen trees overlooking green meadows, a home with a living roof, an organic vegetable garden and old stone remains from previous generations. This time of day will give us long cast shadows.

Location:  11301 Neelsville Church Rd, Germantown, MD 20878

Cost: Free 

Number of registrants: Up to 20 members and their guests (Members may bring 1 guest.)

What to expect:  Once you have arrived, please check in with Patti or Lynn. Snacks will be provided.  We will paint all afternoon and then gather around 4:00 for a quick share and see, and group photo.  We all must leave by 4:30.

What to bring:   Bring your standard paints, substrate, easel, stool, medium, drop cloth, hand wipes, sun hat, bug spray, water.  Please stay hydrated.

Getting there: If you'd like to try to find a ride or carpool with other participants, please post a note in our members-only Facebook group.

Rain date:  No rain date.  Event will be held only if it is not raining.
