We’re delighted to welcome you to the opening reception of MAA’s first Strathmore Mansion Members’ Show. This special event highlights the creativity and talent of our community of artists—set in one of the region’s most inspiring arts venues.
The Strathmore Mansion has long been a cornerstone of the local arts community. It is a place where creativity is nurtured and artists are truly celebrated—through vibrant exhibitions, engaging programs, and meaningful opportunities to connect with the public. Strathmore brings the arts to life in ways that enrich and uplift us all. At approximately 1:30–2:00 pm, we will begin our remarks. The Director of the Strathmore Mansion Galleries, Lesley Morris, will open the reception and welcome everyone to enjoy the exhibition. Our MAA President, Sylvia Douglin, will then offer congratulations to all exhibiting artists and recognize our members and guests in attendance. Following Sylvia, Jordan Bruns, our juror and distinguished artist, will present the Artist Recognition Awards. Jordan will also be available throughout the afternoon to speak with artists and visitors. Bring family and friends to enjoy one of the premier art venues in the Washington, DC metro area and experience an exceptional fall exhibition. You’ll discover original works in a variety of mediums and sizes—perfect for gifting, collecting, or treating yourself to something special.
