Date & Time: October 8, 2024, 7 - 8pm
Location: Kensington Park Library, 4201 Knowles Ave, Kensington, MD
About the presentation:
For Beverley, Mosaic Art is a culmination of her creative passions from a very early age, including portraiture, needlepoint, quilting, ceramics, incessant drawing, and love of color & texture.
She will talk about the ancient history of mosaics, the evolution to contemporary mosaic art, her influences and journey.
About our presenter: Beverley received her Associates Degree in Graphic Design, Textile Design, and Fine Art from St. Albans College of Art and Design, St. Albans, England, in 1985. She then received a Bachelor of Arts with Honors Degree in Graphic Design from Canterbury College of Art/Kent Institute of Art & Design, Kent, England, in 1988. Beverley uses many types of media in her mosaics, including glass, ceramics, beads, tiles, and unique found treasures. Because her education and professional background include graphic design, composition is in her nature. She applies this in a 3-dimensional way, creating a detailed extravaganza of tactile shape and color, which is supremely rewarding to her. Beverley is thrilled when people enjoy the artwork she has gained such satisfaction in creating. For more of Beverley's work, please visit: https://www.instagram.com/skowlmosaic/
