Plein Air Paint out at Lilypons Water Gardens

Join the MAA Plein Air Artists in their annual plein air session at the Lilypons Water Gardens! Yes, thanks to our gracious hosts at the Lilypons, we are invited on 15 July, Saturday, to make the most of the flowering season of water lilies and lotuses! Spend the day painting 'en plein air' and meeting fellow artists at this gorgeous water garden in Frederick County, just 40 minutes from Rockville. 

• When: Saturday, July 15, 10am-3pm.
• About Lilypons: Lilypons Water Gardens is a fourth-generation-owned nature sanctuary with 250-acres of wetlands to explore and aquatic nursery with a complete selection of water gardening products. There are many nature trails throughout our property to paint, sketch, hike and take in the unique beauty of the landscape. There are natural ponds with different varieties of waterlilies, lotus, and bog plants that will inspire you. And you will also see different species of wildlife, including water birds, raptors, turtles, frogs, dragonflies and butterflies. More info.
  
• Cost: Free with registration
• What to bring: All art supplies and equipment needed for the day, sun protection, insect repellent, toe-covered shoes recommended, food and drink.  (Please note that there is nowhere on site to buy food or drinks.) Please bring a trash bag so we leave the site clean as ever.
• Use of facilities:  Restrooms will be available. We'll also have access to picnic tables.

• Rain date:  If the weather is poor the Event will be cancelled.
