New -- Plein Air Paintout at Windridge Vineyards - Registration Opens May 24

Spend a morning or afternoon painting ‘en plein air’ with fellow MAA members at Windridge Vineyards, located in beautiful Darnestown, Maryland. The vines are growing back after sleeping for the winter; small flower gardens are in full bloom just waiting for you to capture them in a painting. 

Year after year, the Vineyards alluring beauty of rolling plains and healthy wines has been inspiring the MAA artists to paint the Vineyards ‘en plein air’. The hospitality of the owners provides all comfort to the artists in their outdoor endeavor.

• Where:  Windridge Vineyards, 15700 Darnestown Road, Darnestown, MD. 
  
• Time: Windridge has approved our painting time for 9am- 4pm. The time is divided into two Sessions of painting. You can participate in either or both. 

• What to bring: Please bring everything you need for the day, including art supplies and equipment, trash bag, sun protection, insect repellent and food and water. Outside wine is not allowed.

• Use of Windridge chairs or tables:  You may only use Windridge picnic tables or outdoor chairs if you cover them to avoid getting paint on them.  
• Cost: Free with registration
• Sharing your art : Take time to share your work with the other plein air artists after painting. 
• Tasting room access:  The tasting room is not open until 11 am. Drinks and snacks will not be for sale until then. However, the restrooms will be accessible to us.  
• Rain date: In case of rain the Event will be cancelled and you will be informed via email.

• Please pay attention to the following:

• The Vineyards are actively farmed. Please refrain from entering the vineyard rows and touching the vines.
• No commercial photography is permitted without prior approval.
• Please respect the quiet enjoyment of other guests.
• Plein air artists can use their umbrellas as long as these are securely attached to their easels.
• Please take care to not stain any tables or chairs with paint and clean up the site before leaving.
