The Contest: Windridge Vineyard is commissioning and purchasing an original watercolor of their vineyard wine grape mapping. To make this a little more fun for everyone and to extend this opportunity to our community of watercolor artists, MAA is hosting a contest in which Windridge will select the winning artworks.
Contest Winners: Windridge Owners will select 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. The 1st place winning watercolor will be purchased by Windridge not to exceed $350. The 2nd and 3rd place winners will receive monetary awards for their submissions. The 1st place winner's watercolor will hang in the Windridge Vineyard Tasting Room and will be used for advertising in their spring and summer publicity campaigns. The artist of the 1st place watercolor will be acknowledged whenever the artwork is shown in publications and advertising.
Watercolor Artwork Submission
Submission of Artwork: MAA artists may submit up to 3 works for consideration in this contest. Artwork images may be uploaded between March 4 and April 1. April 1 is the deadline to upload artwork.
Artwork Drop Off -- There will be no art drop off...Watercolor artwork will be selected from the artists photo images submitted online through the event announcement.
Framing: Only the 1st place wining artwork must be framed with mat and glass, or framed no mat or glass, varnished with UV-protected varnish (to avoid yellowing).
Media Eligible: 2D watercolor on paper
Dimensions: 8.5"x11" or 11"x14" watercolor artwork (not including mat&frame)
Image of Artwork: The 1st place watercolor will professionally photographed for use by Windridge for advertising and publicity purposes.
Cost: There is no fee to submit your work for consideration.You must be a MAA member to register for this art contest.
