You are invited to a special conversation with Seattle-based watercolorist Fred Lisaius on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, from 7-8 pm ET on Zoom.

About the presentation: Fred will show how to carefully construct a watercolor using preliminary sketches and value studies. He will demo how he creates this beautiful serene atmosphere in the painting.

About our presenter:Fred Lisaius was born in New Jersey. His parents were first-generation Americans and wonderfully brave and creative. They encouraged his interest in art and he graduated with a BFA with honors from the Rhode Island School of Design.  He has also lived in New York City and Copenhagen, and now calls Seattle home.

Being outside, in nature, is an important part of Fred's happiness. Nature is creative, beautiful, brutal, kind and honest, and is where Fred looks for Truth and finds it everywhere. His paintings are metaphors for both local and global communities. Within this theme, he explores the concepts of diversity, self, and truth. He invites viewers to find their own connections and meaning within his art. For inspiration, he takes a lot of photos and collects leaves, berries, mushrooms, bark, and other bits of nature. His art is also informed by images of pattern and nature from around the world.
