The Windridge Winery in Darnestown will be hosting an ongoing MAA art exhibit in their Tasting Room to reflect the fine art from local artist along with the vineyard's fine wine.  MAA will be creating a digital library to which member artists can submit up to 3 works per member.  Art submissions should focus on Maryland and surrounding metropolitan area:

  1. natural landscapes, maritime and seascapes indicative of all things Maryland--including farmland and rolling hills, forested areas, coastal areas, towns and waterways,  vineyards, orchards, and farmers markets.
  2. cityscapes, townscapes, urbanscapes to include the physical aspects of city, urban and town architecture, street corner or outdoor cafe
  3. still life celebrating material local pleasures of flowers, fruit food and wine -- as well as all kinds of man-made or natural objects indicative of the mid-Atlantic area.
  4. abstract art that breaks away from the traditional representation of everyday objects and familiar subjects as described in #s 1 & 2 above and that is meant to turn heads and illicit new imaginations within the viewers.
Artists work will be juried by the winery.  Selected artwork (~10-15 pieces) will be exhibited for a 2 month period.  At the end of each 2 month period, the winery will jury a new selection of MAA artwork for the next 2 month period. Sold artwork can be replaced by the artist with a similar size piece.  MAA will notify the artists when work is sold.

2D work including oil, acrylic, watercolor, mixed media, pastel, encaustic or drawing / ink mediums are eligible for entry.  Photography is not included.

There is no fee to submit your work for inclusion in the Winery Digital Library.  A fee of $5 will be required for each artwork selected by the winery.
