For more than a decade, MAA has organized one of the largest local art shows in the DC area — the annual Paint the Town Labor Day Show. For the three-day holiday weekend of September 1-3, 2018, the show takes over the historic Kensington Armory, with thousands of visitors passing through the doors to see and purchase art. The entire show is run by volunteers, and all participating artists must be MAA members.
For 2018 our judge is award-winning artist Gavin Glakas (shown at left), and prizes will be awarded in six categories. The Bertha Clum award is given to the first-place prize in the Kensington category.
We also host a plein air competition for adults and children.
